Jvanna L. Hanks II is the Deputy Superintendent of Gallup-McKinley County Schools, bringing more than 22 years of progressively responsible public-school leadership to one of New Mexico’s largest and most culturally diverse districts. Since joining GMCS in 2002, she has advanced from entry-level business office roles to executive leadership, integrating fiscal strategy with instructional priorities to strengthen learning environments for all students. A recognized advocate for equitable school finance, Hanks played a key role in legislative and legal efforts that corrected Impact Aid crediting and helped secure increased funding statewide through the Yazzie/Martinez education case.
