Derrek Carr. Personally, I believe Derek is one of the most underrated QBs in NFL history. In his career, he has thrown for over 40,000 yards and more than 250 TDs. Even though he is no longer a member of the Las Vegas Raiders, barring injury, Derek still has an opportunity to finish with over 300 TDs. Historically, achieving either 40,000 yards or 300 TDs has signified a Hall of Fame career. Notably, Derek also has a sub-2% interception ratio, protecting the ball better than any QB not named Aaron Rodgers. Aside from his statistical accomplishments, Derek's off-the-field persona is much more appealing. He has always been a down-to-earth, positive-minded athlete who treats his coaches and teammates with respect. Derek also openly displays his personally held Christian beliefs. He has repeatedly inspired me to be upfront about who I am as opportunities arise. Finally, from the first day Derek arrived in the NFL until now, I've never seen a media interview where he didn't offer insightful commentary and conduct himself with class, treating the media with dignity. I genuinely respect that aspect of his personality. Although the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders didn't achieve as much on-field success as I'm sure Derek or the fans hoped, his time with the Raiders will always resonate positively with me.
