One example of a patient education tool is "communication". Being an effective communicator involves obtaining the skills necessary to exchange information with understanding. As a healthcare professional, one of my daily tasks involves educating my patients about the use and benefits of respiratory care medications and management of their lung disease. Being knowledgeable about one's condition and treatment regimen creates a good outcome and maintains effective and efficient quality of care for the patient.
