I am writing an article on how to approach insurance as a short-term rental host, especially how landlord insurance is not enough. I am looking for first-hand insights and experiences. Here are the questions: 1) What insurance do you have for your STR? If you don't have landlord insurance, why or why not? 2) What issues would you have if you tried to rely on landlord insurance? 3) If you chose a short-term rental insurance policy, what aspect of coverage mattered most to you, and why? 4) Did you choose the cheapest policy available, or were you willing to pay more for broader protection? What drove that decision? 5) Have you ever made an insurance claim related to your short-term rental? If so, what happened and what did you learn? 6) If a host had to file a claim tomorrow, what documentation would you want them to have prepared?
