I'm updating a guide for home buyers and sellers on how to find and pick a real estate agent. I'm looking for first-hand insight on a few specific things:
- The single most common mistake you see clients make when picking an agent — what is it, and how does it cost them?
- A specific red flag in an agent interview that most clients miss because it looks normal.
- How you'd recommend evaluating an agent's answer to "How would you price my home?" — what's a great answer vs. a marketing answer?
- Your honest take on agent-matching services (Clever, Ideal Agent, HomeLight, UpNest) — are any of them worth using? When?
- One question you wish more clients asked their agent during the interview.
Please include your name, brokerage, role, years in the industry, and city/state for attribution. Personal anecdotes and specific examples preferred over general advice. Responses by May 12, 2026 please.
