I'm writing an article examining whether calorie and food tracking apps produce real-world weight loss results, supported by a large-scale analysis of nearly 4,000 app users tracked over six months. I'm looking for a Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to comment on one or more of the following:
In your clinical experience, does consistent food tracking (via apps or other methods) lead to meaningful, sustained weight loss? Why or why not?
Research identifies self-monitoring as the strongest behavioral predictor of weight management success. Does this match what you see with your clients?
What role does detailed nutrient tracking (beyond just calories) play in weight management outcomes?
What advice would you give someone starting to use a food tracking app for the first time?
Requirements: Must hold current RD or RDN credential. Please include your full name, credentials, and practice name/affiliation. A 2-4 sentence response per question is ideal.
Deadline: Apr 7th, 2026 11:59 PM (May close early)
