salt, iodine, and older women
I'm looking for physicians who have science-backed knowledge on
(1) how salt affects older women generally - thats the easy one.
(2) Iodine - with so many using Himalayan or sea salts, is the reduction in our consumption of iodized salt leading to iodine deficiencies?? Or do we get enough from our “processed foods”?
(3) If we as a population getting enough iodine, are there groups that are vulnerable to iodine deficiencies such as people who avoid processed foods? A quick search suggests women and children - but why?
(4) Does Himalayan salt really have health benefits, like trace minerals, or is that bunk?
