As a UESCA certified running coach, I once received feedback from a client that led to a significant change in my training approach. The client expressed that while they found the structured training plans beneficial, they were struggling with the rigidity and lack of adaptability to their changing daily life. This feedback led me to reassess the flexibility of my training programs. In response, I developed a more dynamic training plan model that incorporated adaptable workout blocks. These blocks could be shifted within the client's week to accommodate unexpected events or fluctuations in energy levels and motivation. I also introduced a weekly check-in process where clients could communicate any barriers they faced, allowing us to adjust the plan in real-time. This new approach proved to be a game-changer for my clients, as it provided them with the structure they needed to progress while also accommodating the ebb and flow of their daily lives. It led to increased satisfaction and better adherence to the training programs, ultimately resulting in improved performance outcomes for my clients. This experience underscored the importance of listening to client feedback and remaining flexible as a coach to meet individual needs.
As an online coach, I think it's import that your clients have access to you via email or phone number. Coaches need real time feed back to adjust a workout, answer questions, or be a positive influence to get into the gym. Without that feedback, as a coach, how do YOU know if your client is reaching their goals?
