I had a client who came to me wanting to build strength and improve their fitness, but they struggled with joint pain and had a limited range of motion due to a past injury. Traditional exercises were out of the question, so I had to adapt my coaching to focus on low-impact, joint-friendly movements and build a customized, gradual progression plan. One challenge was helping them feel confident in trying new movements, as they were wary of triggering pain. I started with exercises focused on stability and mobility to help them strengthen key muscle groups while reducing stress on their joints. We made adjustments week by week, and I offered encouragement and regular check-ins to keep them motivated and comfortable with the process. Over time, we saw significant progress, with their strength and mobility increasing noticeably without discomfort. It taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and the value of a highly personalized approach. By meeting the client exactly where they were and gradually building from there, we achieved goals that initially felt out of reach.
