And they don't know how to interpret, challenge or validate AI outputs. So, it is not about how technically sound your AI developers are, it is how AI savvy are the people using the solution are. 3. Most organization plan AI deployment based on process maps & formal docs. But real workflows have exceptions and judgment calls, which creates friction instead of leverage. Same is the case with skills. Leaders assume skills based on job titles. But actual task-level capabilities differ. Without granular visibility into tasks, skills & decision points, AI pilots are often solving the wrong problems. 4. Data readiness. That's where most leaders overestimate readiness. They believe that their data quality is good, which means they are ready to plug it into AI models. But that's often not the case. Another gap is cultural readiness. It is easy to assume that everyone is willing to change roles and the way they work to include the new AI solution. But in reality, people are much less willing to change that. 5. The real question isn't What can AI replace? but What decisions, tasks, or judgments become better when humans and AI work together? Also, design AI pilots around how people actually work and how that work must change. That makes scaling AI pilots much easier.
