Cloud-based AI platforms like AWS, Google Cloud AI, and Azure AI will continue to grow, providing scalable solutions at predictable costs. Businesses can rent AI infrastructure instead of building and managing their own, which reduces upfront investments. Pay-as-you-go models are ideal for businesses that don't need 24/7 AI processing. However, reliance on these services could lead to higher long-term expenses if usage scales quickly. Businesses must carefully evaluate their usage patterns to avoid unexpected costs while benefiting from cloud efficiency.
AI costs are going to be exponential as it evolves. AI requires a massive amount of processing power, and a massive amount of electrical power for those processors. AI will undoubtedly be pushed to invest in generating their own electricity to be less of a strain on the grid. However, at some point, it is inevitable we reach some breakthroughs for energy use and processing power and make AI much more efficient. But for now, AI is going to be more and more costly.
