Many people with website traffic automatically implement automated ads using Google Adsense and other platforms. They quickly discover that revenues are low, and meaningful revenue requires much more traffic than they have. Instead, reach out to people in your network who will benefit from advertising on your website or social media channels. Build relationships with them, and show them how advertising with you has value. If you have a fair amount of traffic, it's not terribly hard to get people in your network to advertise with you. For example, you may have a connection with a decision maker at a company with revenues in the $10-50M range. An advertising budget of $500 per month is well within range for them. The relationship gets you the conversation and some degree of trust. To close the deal, show them how your traffic is relevant to their audience. You may not have the volume, but if it's highly targeted, or if you give them access to a new market, they're apt to give it a try.
