As a Chief People Officer, my main priority is ensuring all employees feel safe, valued, and supported in their workplace. To accomplish this, I'm staying up at night to ensure that our human resources policies are up to date and compliant with the latest laws and regulations. Additionally, I'm focused on providing continuous training and development opportunities for our team, so that each employee can stay up-to-date in their respective field and have the skills needed to advance in their careers. Finally, I'm monitoring the overall morale and engagement of our team, to ensure that our employees are feeling supported and connected to our organization.
Employees who do not get to enjoy work-life balance are more likely to resign. I find time to strategize on how to achieve this despite the demands of the job. Adapting to a 4-day work week and hybrid work environment has helps employees find more flexibility. It is important to come up with new measures to assure employees that they are valued and well taken cared of.
How to build a team that can cope with the growing demand? For a chief people officer, this is not a mere question, it's a problem whose solution can resolve all the issues in a company. It keeps a Chief People Officer up at night. Building a team that can understand the problems of the company, provide the best solution, and work with effective collaboration is quite challenging. Many times, you as a chief people officer can’t decide on how to make such a team that can meet growing industry demand and help in the business growth. Huge demand from customers is the biggest challenge because only a strong team can handle it. For example a grocery delivery. Only the delivery boy doesn’t work to provide you with the stuff on time, an entire team works that you don’t know. From the time you choose items to place an order and get it at the doorstep, an active team works behind every step.
