I'd love to be a guest on your ESPN LA show! As a former pro triathlete and coach for 15+ years, I've experienced both sides of endurance sports - racing at the highest level (4th at Ironman Canada, 13th at Challenge Roth as top American) while also coaching athletes of all abilities. My background combines elite athletics with an educator's perspective. I founded Campfire Endurance Coaching to bring pro-level training to everyday athletes, something I'm passionate about discussing. I describe my job as being "a gym teacher for adults" because I believe endurance sports make people faster, happier, and healthier. Health topics are right in my wheelhouse - I've seen how proper nutrition and hydration dramatically impact performance. My coaching philosophy focuses on the mental aspects as much as physical training. One of my biggest coaching revelations: you can't force progress faster than the process allows. No shortcuts lead to sustainable results. I've appeared on numerous podcasts including Nutritional Revolution, Ironman Hacks, and The Working Triathlete. Having balanced pro sports with real-life demands, I bring practical perspective on health and performance that resonates with active audiences.
My husband Brad Clontz is a former MBA baseball player (pitcher, Atlanta Braves, 1995-1997) and I have been his 'wellness counselor' since we met five years ago. In a short span of time, Brad has lost close to 40 pounds with GLP-1 drugs (semaglutide), testosterone replacement (TRT) and peptide therapy (AOD 9604, Ipamorelin with CJC 1295, etc.) I'd like to nominate him for the radio show, or I could speak about sports and health in regards to my husband's journey. Thanks in advance for your consideration!
Finding the right athletes to feature on your radio show can significantly enhance the dialogue around sports and health. Former professional athletes like Abby Wambach, who has been a vocal advocate for health and equality in sports, or someone like Chris Bosh, an NBA star whose career was altered by health issues, can provide compelling insights and personal stories. Their experiences offer a unique perspective on how professional sports intersect with long-term health concerns, which resonates well with listeners who are sports enthusiasts. Additionally, current athletes who are known for their health-conscious lifestyle, such as Tom Brady with his TB12 method, can also be a big draw. These athletes can share tips on fitness regimens, nutrition, and maintaining peak physical condition, which are invaluable to the audience. Wrapping up, the inclusion of such knowledgeable and diverse guests will not only enrich the content of your show but also broaden its appeal to a wider audience, engaging listeners who are keen on sports as much as they are on wellness.
My son is no professional by any means however, he just got offered a full ride scholarship to Arkansas state and I think his young, no full grasp of what's ahead, can add an interesting innocence perspective to your conversation.
