The most comfortable lens I have ever worn are the 1 Day Oasys MAX lenses. My first experience with the lenses was when I was attending a conference in Las Vegas. From the moment I put them on, it felt as if I was not wearing any contact lenses -- there was no discomfort, no dryness, just comfort. I wore the lenses all day without the use of any eyedrops. The next morning, I woke up with crystal clear vision and then realized I forgot to remove the lenses the night before. The fact that I can wear the lenses all day comfortably means my patients will have a similar experience too. What is impressive about this lens is that it is not only comfortable, it has almost 100% UV protection and is the only contact lens that filters blue light.
There is a reason that Acuvue Oasys is renowned for its comfort, particularly for individuals like myself that get dry eyes and spend extended hours in front of screens. They call their technology HydraLuxe, which is supposed to mimic natural tear film, keeping the eyes hydrated and reducing discomfort throughout the day, something that I think it actually delivers on. These lenses are also highly breathable, allowing sufficient oxygen flow to the eyes, which minimizes irritation when wearing them for a long time or on places that tend to be harsher on your eyes like flights - something that I unfortunately know all too well.
I've recently come around to the Biofinity line by CooperVision. Biofinity lenses are designed for extended wear, making them an excellent option for individuals seeking convenience and comfort over a long period of time. This ispretty relevant to me, given that some redeye flights mean that I'm wearing them for over 24 hours. They claim to shave something called Aquaform Technology that is supposed to ensure consistent moisture retention, reducing the need for rewetting drops, and I've largely found this to be the case. These lenses also have a high level of oxygen permeability, which keeps eyes feeling fresh and healthy.
