The use of lean manufacturing principles strongly reduced operational waste at our factory. For instance, it was observed that an excessive amount of time was spent on transporting materials between different stages of the manufacturing. The principal lean principle that we applied was to drastically cut movement waste – in other words, to eliminate the distance between consecutive production stages. Consequently, not only time but also the risk of damage to transported material were reduced, making the production process smoother, faster and more affordable.
