I was having trouble finding meaning and purpose in my life, so even before I launched my business, I began to practice mindfulness and gratitude. I firmly feel that my attention gets drawn to everything that irritates me if all I do is complain. When I am thankful, I focus on everything I own. Wherever you focus, that's where your life is. I usually list five to ten things for which I am thankful. This daily routine helps me stay grounded and has been helpful in keeping my spirits up during my struggles with setbacks in life and business. Sometimes all I could manage to do was tell myself, "I made it through today," ten times over. However, it would give me the courage and strength to face the next day. Yes, cultivating gratitude has, and still does, have a big positive influence on my general happiness and attitude.
