Make chores feel like a job with real perks and a sense of ownership. Give them a "department" to manage. Instead of saying, Take out the trash, tell them they're in charge of Waste Operations-which includes trash, recycling, and making sure the bin is out on pickup day. If they love cooking, let them be "Kitchen Manager" and put them in charge of organizing groceries or prepping easy meals. The more responsibility they have, the more they take it seriously. If they do the job well, give them "bonuses"-maybe extra screen time, a fun privilege, or even "promotion" to a bigger responsibility. Kids don't hate work. They hate meaningless tasks. Give them a role they can own!
