Lemon oil is a natural product that helps to condition and protect the wood of the fretboard. It also helps to remove built-up dirt and grime, leaving behind a smooth and shiny surface. To use lemon oil on a rosewood fretboard, I first remove all of the strings from the guitar and then apply a small amount of the oil onto a clean, soft cloth. I then gently rub the oil onto the fretboard, making sure to cover all areas evenly. After letting the oil sit for a few minutes, I use a separate clean cloth to wipe away any excess oil. This method not only effectively cleans the fretboard, but also helps to maintain its natural color and moisture balance. I prefer using lemon oil to clean my rosewood fretboard because it is an all-natural product that does not contain harsh chemicals or additives. As someone who is conscious about using eco-friendly products, lemon oil provides a safe and effective alternative compared to other commercial cleaners. Additionally, lemon oil is gentle on the wood and does not strip away any natural oils or damage the surface of the fretboard.
