For me as a perfumer, the category which triggers the strongest memories is obviously perfume and colognes. Their fragrance is strong & distinctive and easily triggers memories and the associated experiences. One of my earliest fragrance memories was of my father's brother coming to visit. We lived in the Netherlands and my uncle came from Spain. His scent, and aftershave in particular, was so exotic and distinctively different from my father that I found it hard to believe they were siblings.
As a young girl, I used to love to watch my mom put make up on in the '60s - I was fascinated by all the lotions and potions, especially the tiny little sample lipsticks from Avon! They were iconic, and just the cutest thing that had the perfect amount of color, along with the perfect slant to give you a precise lip line. The colors were always incredibly bright, but I didn't care- I was obsessed with them and wanted them all! My mom taught me everything I know about beauty and style, and helped form me into the make up artist that I am today.... along with those lipsticks from Avon and lots of Aqua-Net!
"When it comes to cosmetics that hold a special place in my heart, I immediately think of Yonka Phyto Bain. It was the first product I used in my own spa, and its transformative effects on my clients truly inspired me. This product not only represents the beginning of my journey in the beauty industry but also sparked the creation of Potency No. 710. The unique blend of essential oils and natural ingredients in Yonka Phyto Bain encapsulated everything I wanted to bring to my own formulations-luxury, efficacy, and a deep connection to nature."
