By far the best speech-to-text technology I've seen and used is Whisper by Open AI. It uses automatic speech recognition technology to accurately transcribe audio in real time. One of the most powerful use cases for this is in transcribing notes, messages, or instructions. And it's as simple as hitting "Ctrl + Shift + R" and then speaking into your microphone. It's better than traditional speech-to-text softwares because it can really capture the nuance and what you're saying and instead of having to edit or fix a lot of jumbled up words the whisper software does a great job of accurately transcribe whatever it is you're saying. Sometimes I will just transcribe all of my thoughts about a certain problem or issue or I will transcribe instructions and then I will take the transcription and put it into an AI program like ChatGPT to have it format it for readability and I found this to have much better results than just trying to prompt chat GPT And because it's so fast with the transcription, I can basically just speak a prompt and have it instantly transcribed and give it to chatGPT instead of having to type it out. I ran some benchmark tests between Whisper and my native speech-to-text software installed on my computer and found Whisper to be far more accurate than the regular speech-to-text software.
