Design professionals, what is a single environmental consideration you've taken into account in your designs, and why do you think it's important?

As a CEO of Startup House, I always emphasize the importance of incorporating sustainable practices into our software designs. One key environmental consideration we focus on is energy efficiency. By optimizing our code and utilizing efficient algorithms, we not only reduce our carbon footprint but also help our clients save on energy costs in the long run. It's important because as technology continues to advance, it's crucial for us to be mindful of our impact on the environment and work towards a more sustainable future.

Sunlight is a critical factor when considering site design. In the Summer, shade provides protection from the Sun; but in the Winter having sunlight is a positive factor to keep a location comfortable. Vegetation requires certain amounts of sunlight as well, not too much or too little. A lovely solution is deciduous trees that provide shade in the Summer, but drop their leaves in the Winter and allow a filtered light to come through.
