One great, free tool in my martech stack is the Moz toolbar. You can download and install it for free. Then, whenever you visit a website with the toolbar activated, you'll immediately get a sense of their domain authority, traffic, and value. This helps with prioritization when you're prospecting for publications where you can guest post or pitch a story on behalf of your clients. Additionally, it helps with qualifying new clients of your own. You'll be able to quickly get a sense of how far along they are in their own digital marketing journey, and how you might be able to help them best.
Creating, sharing, and remembering all your passwords is already a huge personal hassle, but sharing them with a team makes things even more difficult. Security is incredibly important, so anything that makes that process easier is a no-brainer. 1Password allows you to store all your access information to every tool you have and then share them with your team (depending on what plan you're on).
Tool I couldn't live without I'd have to say, hands down, the tool that I couldn't live without is Google Analytics. As a marketer and a digital marketer, it's an essential piece of my marketing tech stack. It allows me to track how users interact with my site and what they're doing while they're on it. It also gives me insights into where they came from (the referring link), how long they stayed, and where they went after leaving. Another reason I love Google Analytics is because it's so easy to use! It has a clean interface and intuitive navigation that makes data exploration a breeze. In addition to being incredibly helpful for marketers like myself, there are some really cool features available in Google Analytics that are beneficial for your business as well—like reports on traffic sources (where people are coming from) or demographics (who exactly is visiting).
But when it comes to marketing tools, there is one that stands out above the rest: ahrefs. Here’s why ahrefs is the best marketing tool for digital marketers: 1. It’s comprehensive: ahrefs provides everything you need to know about your website and your competitors. With its extensive data and features, you can get a complete picture of your online marketing landscape. 2. It’s user-friendly: ahrefs is easy to use, even for beginners. Its intuitive interface and step-by-step tutorials make it simple to get started and get the most out of its features. 3. It’s affordable: ahrefs is a great value for the price. Its comprehensive data and powerful features make it worth every penny. 4. It’s always updated: ahrefs is constantly updating its data to ensure that you have the most accurate information about your website and your competitors. This way, you can always stay ahead of the curve. 5. It has a great support team: If you ever have any questions, its support team is great
The #1 tool I cannot live without is definitely Screaming Frog. The tools allows the user to 'crawl' a website and see exactly what search engines like Google and Bing see, so you're essentially taking a look behind the curtain of the crawling process. Based on this, you can then see immediate improvement opportunities for your website such as metadata, headings, images based on file size, structured data, broken URLs and much more. It's also incredible when launching a new site, as you can crawl both the staging site and the new site upon launch to then compare each crawl (ensuring that all required data has been carried-across from the staging to the new site).
First level audits, positioning tracking, one-click competitor analysis and backlink monitoring: SemRush has it all if you know how to use it. That's why me and many other SEO consultants use it on a daily basis. The organic traffic insights dashboard shows me all my top articles, relevant keywords, social shares, and word counts. By doing this, I'm able to get a quick overview of what's working for my SEO clients and where I need to optimize.
Website live chat has been a very valuable marketing tool for our business by increasing leads, cutting down qualifying time, and helping clarify the path prospects take when engaging with our content. Website live chat tools can be set up as a quick and easy way to let web visitors engage with your team immediately for not just sales but also customer service and ask general questions about the company or services. It saves what could potentially be days of back-and-forth emails in a simple web conversation. Transcripts can be sent on to the sales team to run with from there or live chats can be integrated directly with a CRM to track how a visitor arrived at the site, what pages they visited, and what the chat messages were. Live chats can also be programmed with contextual prompts to proactively reach out to users to ask if they have questions about what they are browsing as they scroll the site.

We find Campaign Monitor invaluable for quick and easy email marketing solutions. It integrated well with our CRM system so new prospects can be added easily. Also, it integrates well with Google Analytics so we can see page engagement stats for the traffic we receive. The drag-and-drop system for templates is good and can be used by our less experienced staff. It provides us with the ability to build segmented lists based on e.g. tech prospects, fintech clients and is helpful for personalizing our messaging! More so, it can automate campaigns and ensure the right customers receive the right message at the right time. The tracking of a campaign’s success shows who opened it and who shared it, as well as any comments made on it. The data is shown in real time, offering invaluable information for feedback and precision.

Among digital marketing tools, I can say that I couldn't live without Ahrefs! This tool is vital for our SEO strategy. It excels at audits of backlinks and competitive analysis. Not to mention the powerful keyword research with its enormous and updated database and its content explore feature that I believe is so useful for generating new ideas.
The number one tool that everyone has to use is any instant messaging app you and your team prefer. Screaming Frog is possibly the most popular tool in the SEO industry because it is so useful and is amazing value for money. If you are auditing websites for technical & on-page issues that can effect you SEO performance, this is the tool that is invaluable to have in your arsenal. It can also be useful in other areas such as: • You can crawl your competitors and understand what type of content they are creating and their site structure. • You can plugin Google Search Console & Google Analytics data, it then allows you to extract the traffic data for all pages on a site. You can then analyse how content is performing and prioritise to either keep, re-optimise, or delete content. • It can be used for link acquestion by: o Analysing a list of prospective link targets o Extracting email address from websites for outreach o Find broken links for outreach opportunities o Monitor if link removal requests have been carried out
Social media has been such a powerful marketing tool over the years. Living in the digital age has allowed us easier access to these channels and created a whole new level of branding and marketing. I cannot imagine doing my job without social media marketing. It is one of the lifebloods of the company and allows us to advertise our products and services on our terms.
For organic search/SEO/SERP competitor analysis: Now that I've experienced a rank tracker like Nozzle, that tracks the whole SERP and shows you the SERP HTML so you can see where you're positioned, I'll never go back to a rank tracker that just tells me a number rank. This SERP-focused type of rank tracking is necessary when you consider how many features Google has added to the SERP, and will continue to add in the future.
