Towards the end of 2022, I found myself relying heavily on Surfer SEO as my go-to tool for on-page SEO. This was largely due to its ability to optimize the content on my website for SEO quickly. With a few clicks, I could analyze keyword performance and make sure I'm targeting the right phrases to get visitors to my site. Compared to 2021, I used Surfer SEO more because of Google's helpful content update. With Surfer SEO, I was able to easily identify what changes I needed to make on my website to make it more competitive. Overall, Surfer SEO is an excellent tool for on-page optimization and one that I highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their SEO.
I like how it gives me details about the keyword I was looking for as well as useful ideas for similar terms and how they compare to the term I was initially looking at (volume, CPC, difficulty, etc.). With my assistance, my clients have been able to better target phrases that are lower in the funnel and more likely to convert. This has allowed me to target these terms with relevant material that responds to their actual questions.
As an SEO expert, you are always looking for new tools to help you stay ahead of the competition. But with so many options, it can be hard to figure out which ones are worth your time and money. In this post, I will talk about the most effective SEO tools in 2022. 1. Google Search Console. Helps you understand how your site is performing in Google search and track down any errors that need to be fixed. 2. Screaming Frog is a website crawler that can help you find broken links, duplicate content, and other technical issues. 3. Yoast SEO is a WordPress plugin that allows you to optimize your site for better search engine visibility. 4. SEMrush is a tool that gives you insight into your competitors SEO strategies and allows you to track your own progress. 5. Google Analytics - Free data tracking software from Google that gives you insight into your website traffic and user behavior. In the new year 2023, I hope that there will be new effective SEO tools, but these ones work great!
As someone with 6+ years of SEO experience and currently an SEO manager at an SEO agency along with having worked in other SEO agencies. Hands down by far the tool most used by me and other SEOs is SEMrush. I've used SEMrush the most because it has most of the features I could ever want in an SEO tool. It's easy to do keyword research, a backlink analysis, analyse competitor domains, export data and more. It also has a great user interface so it's easy to use and not overwhelming for the juniors. The only feature I wish SEMrush had is being able to spit more specific keyword data. Like if I type 'best razor for' and get a bunch of suggestions of SEMrush finishing the phrase. I use Keyword Chef for this feature. When it come to change compared to the previous year, I haven't seen any. There may have been changes but none that I've noticed. It has all the essential feature an SEO could want.
In 2022, my team focused on growing the blog's content base and organic traffic. Ahrefs has been our most trusted tool throughout the year because it has a variety of capabilities for traffic and backlink analysis. We've also used it heavily in our content research and creation with tools for keyword research, content gap analysis, and content ideation (Content Explorer). However, in March 2022, Ahrefs changed its pricing strategy by setting daily limits that enraged many regular users. Other than that, the tool has introduced some new options, such as conducting an internal backlinks analysis or viewing a chart of organic keywords ranking history.
Of the free SEO tools at our disposal, Google Search Console was most used. This robust tool has been instrumental in allowing us to figure out how to optimize our site for the best results when it comes to ranking highly on Google. In addition to optimizing for visibility, we're also able to check index status, crawling errors, and search queries. Year after year this SEO tool has allowed us to stay competitive within our industry.

As marketing departments are moving toward more SEO-centric strategies, monitoring metrics through Ahrefs in 2022 has helped track critical analytics to measure progress. For example, you can monitor your website's domain authority through the program – the higher your brand's DR, the more likely it is to perform better through Google's search engine. Platforms such as Ahrefs provide us with more knowledge to test new SEO techniques and view the results.
Optimizing on-page SEO for local clients is essential but it's always been a bit of a struggle with the current tools in the marketplace. Every tool we have used prior is more geared towards affiliate and niche blogging sites rather than catering to local businesses. On-page.ai changes that and has helped us tremendously with cleaning up our client's on-page SEO errors by looking at more data points than any other tool in its space and displaying the data in a way that's easy to understand and implement. We have canceled just about every other on-page tool we had in our arsenal because it works so well and most importantly, it doesn't mindlessly tell us to over-optimize our pages with certain keywords or phrases.
I use an AI copywriting tool called CopyAI to help me brainstorm good meta title and meta descriptions for my blog posts. It's grown a lot since 2021 because AI copywriting has become so much better since 2021 and there is more copy customization available with AI copywriting tools. I also use CopyAI to help me write a guest post in half the time.
The SEO tool I used the most in 2022 was Ahrefs, and I think that has changed a lot from the previous year. In 2021, I used a lot of Google’s tools, such as Search Console and the various search engines. However, in 2022, Google started to de-index a lot of the pages I was trying to improve in order to rank higher. Because of this, I turned to Ahrefs which allowed me to track my backlinks and where they were coming from. It also allowed me to track my domain rating, which was important to me as I worked towards improving my score.
I used Google Search Console the most because it's a great tool for diagnosing and resolving issues with your website's visibility and search engine traffic. It can help you identify problems with your website, such as broken links, crawl errors, and more. And it also gives you insights into how your website is performing in search results, including information on how many impressions and clicks your site is getting from Google search results. I don't think that much has changed between previous years when it comes to SEO tools. Google Search Console is still a staple for any SEO practitioner.
Working on content strategies and SEO content campaigns for the last 4 years, Ahrefs' suite of tools was irreplaceable for me. The detailed data they provide for users who want to tap into various keywords relatable to their client's businesses really makes the difference. You can go way beyond keyword difficulty & search volume, discover different variations of keyword phrases, and make customized lists with one click. In my opinion, the tool just got better, and being used to it makes the job easy and streamlined.

Since the start of 2022, I have fallen in love with SEMrush tools because it completely changes the pattern of my effort in content writing tasks. Before, I used to spend heavy time looking around the competitor's content for keywords that would rank my articles in google. But SEMrush makes it very simple. It only takes a couple of minutes to finalize the keywords with simple information, such as My website URL, competitors' URLs, content topics, and a few more. SEMrush assisted me with keyword research. SEMrush offers a list of keywords and details on each one. The KD (keyword difficulty) score has been beneficial to me in indicating how difficult it will be for me to rank for a specific term.
I used Moz's SEO tool the most in 2022. I think it has changed a lot since then, but that is because I have gotten more experience with it since then. I will also say, though, that I think Moz's tool is not as good as other tools out there for finding relevant keywords and optimizing your content for search engines like Google.
The SEO tool that I use the most in 2022 is Ahrefs. It is a powerful tool that provides detailed insights into my website's performance and the strategies of my competitors. Ahrefs allows me to easily track keyword rankings, backlinks, organic traffic, and more in one convenient dashboard. The interface is easy to use and navigate, making it a great option for all levels of SEO experience. Furthermore, Ahrefs provides a comprehensive suite of reports and analysis tools, allowing me to make data-driven decisions that have had a positive impact on my website's performance. Compared to the previous year, I have seen significant improvement in the ease of use and accuracy of Ahrefs’ analytics. This has enabled me to identify opportunities for improvement, focus on high-value activities, and stay ahead of the competition. I believe that Ahrefs is an invaluable tool for anyone looking to maximize their website's SEO performance in 2022.
During the Year 2022, I was using often SEOWind.io, of which I am a co-founder. This is a tool designed to speed up the content briefing. In other words, it is intended to create better links between content writers and SEOs. It translates what SEOs want into language that content writers can easily understand and digest.
I relied heavily on hunter.io to generate consistent leads for my business. The ability to setup multiple campaigns with Gmail accounts and the ability to search for leads quickly and accurately were the reasons for using it as the sole tool. Also the pricing is pretty decent considering the heavy lifting it does.
I simply can’t live without using Ahrefs. It is my number one favorite tool for my SEO needs because it is easy to use and easy to navigate. I can not only use it to keep an eye on my own business website ranking but also be able to use this information to track what might be working and what isn’t. I can also keep an eye on indirect and direct competition which also helps me with analyzing what I could be doing better to increase my own website’s ranking. There are so many great features with Ahrefs including looking into the keywords that are most used by customers. Ahrefs helps me grow my website by making better decisions and also makes it easier to access.
My preferred SEO tool is SEMrush, which has the "organic traffic analytics" option. I can view all of my most popular posts in one dashboard, along with relevant keywords, social media shares, and word count. I can quickly see what's working and where to make improvements thanks to this. SEMrush is a program I frequently use in my profession, and I adore using its site audit to improve the security of our website. Since we started utilizing SEMrush, our site health has increased by 100%, and our content pages' conversions have increased by 15%.
Yes, the SpyFu SEO tool has helped me much more in 2021 vs the year 2020 in which I didn’t use any tool. It saved me from tedious keyword research, fasten my writing, and much more. I raved about many of the free features of SpyFu and then recently moved to its premium version. Check out the points below to know how beneficial this tool is for me. Know the number of keywords searched each month Easy research on competitors Not only provides SEO features but also others like PPC, projects, and reports A good backlinks builder Effective for SERP analysis Intuitive ranking tracking and competitor analysis Before I got to know about the SpyFu SEO tool, I was using different tools for different tasks. It was time-consuming for me and frustrating to manage all of them. Now with just one tool, I can do many things to improve my SEO and writing skills.
