What I find useful is immersing new sales people into the culture, strategy, products and services of the company. When I was at Quadbridge, this strategy proved extremely effective. I was able to take people with barely any knowledge of technology and within a month have them speaking fluently in servers, storage, networking and enterprise software. As a training manager, I was able to leverage the training tools provided by such companies as VMWare, HP, Microsoft, Symantec, etc to produce people who could call any fortune 500 company and speak intelligently to IT Managers, IT Directors, CIOs and CTOs.
