A key way to ensure authenticity and avoid greenwashing is total transparency in your efforts. Set aboitious climate targets that are aligned with what the science tells us is needed to avoid catstropic climate change (science-based targets) and then be very transparent about the progress you are making (or lack of progress) and programs and intiiatives in place to help the comapny achieve the goal. The comapny should then be publicly reporting on this at least annually.
