I recently got a new puppy, and one of the best things I've bought is a set of tinkle bells. These bells hang on the door, and my puppy can ring them when she needs to go outside. It's such a helpful tool because it makes house training so much easier, as she can't always tell me when she needs to go, but she knows how to ring the bells. It also helps prevent accidents in the house, as she can let me know in advance when she's ready for a potty break. I highly recommend tinkle bells to anyone getting a new puppy--they really make the whole training process smoother and less stressful.
As a certified canine fitness coach, I can't stress enough how vital a fitness kit is for new dog parents aiming for an active lifestyle with their new fur ball. A well-stocked canine fitness kit ensures safety and preparedness for activities like running and hiking in the woods, where dogs thrive. It should include items like a reliable leash, a properly fitted harness, and collapsible water bowls for hydration on the go. These outdoor adventures not only provide crucial physical exercise but also stimulate your dog's mind, fostering a stronger bond between puppy and dog-parents. Regular runs and hikes in natural environments are fundamental for maintaining your dog's overall health and preventing common behavioral issues linked to pent-up energy. Having a consistent exercise program for your dog creates a fulfilling and healthy life making those woodland explorations safe and enjoyable for everyone.
The one thig I would always recommend is a crate for new puppies. A crate isn't a jail cell for your dog but a safe place where they can go an escape the noise of the big bad world. Most of my dogs grow out of the crate after 6-12 months but having somewhere the dog can sleep and escape other pets significantly reduces anxiety in the pet and the owner. I have used one for all my dogs and they have been well rounded dogs. So I would always recommend a crate...... with a relatively robust bed that can withstand the shark like puppy teeth :-) I hope this is what you were after. Regards Andrew (allaboutcockapoos.com)
The one essential item I recommend for new pet owner is a crate! Crate train your puppies early! Crating helps with impulse control and helps your dog to self soothe! It also helps as a potty-training aid and with implementing a solid sleep schedule. Buying and using a crate allows your dog to create a space that is theirs. It allows them to go into a space that is comfortable and safe for them.
For new parrot owners, ensure you have a spacious cage with appropriate bar spacing for your bird. A parrot's cage is their sanctuary--the safest place in your home. Every parrot needs a secure space where they can feel safe and comfortable.
