For us, ethical considerations are taken into account for: - formulation: when developing our products we exclude any and all ingredients with questionable ethics, e.g. no animal testing, no deforestation, no slave labour, no GMO, ... - packaging: the same applies to the development and sourcing of all packaging materials, e.g. FSC certified papers & board, no slave labour, ... - manufacturing: we consciously produce all of our products in the UK to eliminate any potential ethical issues and ensure our staff are well paid and cared for.
There are many ingredients that goes in a beauty product. One of the ethical considerations would be not to use any ingredient that is sourced from animal. One of the example is not to use animal sourced glycerin. Instead use RSPO/MB glycerin sourced from palm oil.
As the co-founder of Glow Therapy, I take our ethical responsibility extremely seriously. We chose to develop affordable LED light therapy masks that provide real results using non-invasive technology. This allows people to achieve their skincare goals without expensive in-office procedures or harsh chemicals. For example, we carefully vet all suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure high quality, medical-grade materials and ethical working conditions. We also operate a robust testing program to guarantee our products meet strict safety standards and deliver the benefits we advertise. Transparency is key. We publish full disclosures of our products’ specifications and clinically proven results so customers can make informed choices about their self-care. While we’re still a growing company, we believe balancing purpose and profitability is key to building a sustainable business model. Our goal is empowering people through confidence in their own skin, not unattainable beauty standards. By focusing on our mission to make professional skincare accessible, we’ve built trust through authenticity. Our communoty of customers values that we walk the walk when it comes to the values most important to them. Ethics and good business can absolutely coexist.
