Safety is the first consideration in everything we do. After completing my first major servicing on a twin-engine aircraft, it tragically crashed, resulting in the loss of both pilots. At the funeral, one of the pilot's young daughters approached me and asked if I had worked on her father's aircraft. I had to answer yes. This moment has stayed with me for half a century, even though the subsequent investigation determined that I had no part in the cause.
