At Yoga Beyond The Studio, we love incorporating mindfulness into our yoga classes through a practice we call "The Stillness Minute." At the end of each session, after savasana, we invite students to sit upright with their eyes closed, hands resting on their knees, and focus on the feeling of breath moving through the body. We encourage them to observe the natural rhythm without trying to control it, noticing any lingering sensations from the practice. This brief, intentional pause allows students to integrate the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of the class, leaving them grounded and present as they transition back into their day. We find this practice cultivates a deeper connection to the self and helps students carry mindfulness off the mat.
