When I began to use ChatGPT as a personal trainer, I was not interested in losing a lot of weight, I simply wanted to become stronger, more regular, and feel better in my routine. The most surprising thing was that it was very effective at making me accountable. The check-in, proposed changes, and tracking progress of my workouts by an AI coach kept me much more in control of my workouts than before. To get it to work, I used ChatGPT as a virtual training partner. It assisted in scheduling exercises on a weekly basis, prescribing exercises where I had no time and even modifying the exercises according to the way my body was feeling that day. The combination of flexibility and structure helped to remain disciplined without struggling to burn out. Personally, I did not just change physically but mentally. The application of AI in this manner created coherence and equilibrium in my workout. It rendered training not so daunting, but made it attainable and it made me stay fit in a manner that really makes sense in real life.
