From a Gen Z perspective, Emily in Paris feels like it's written for millennials it's a bit too glossy and unrealistic. The careers and ambitions look all fun and exciting, but the consequences feel all wrong. Work on the show is portrayed as this crazy, fun, chaotic thing, but Gen Z tends to value balance, boundaries, and authenticity a whole lot more. That makes the show feel a bit too staged and unreal to really connect with. I still watch it, but it's like watching fantasy... Emily's great, but the workplace world in the show feels like it's from another planet
Emily in Paris still feels very millennial-coded to me. The way it portrays work and ambition is more about optics, personal branding, and being effortlessly successful, which doesn't really match how Gen Z views career growth or burnout. I enjoy it as escapism, but I don't see Emily as aspirational — she feels more like a fantasy version of success than a relatable one.
