People enablement is about making the employee feel valued. Giving employees a seat at the table when it comes to decision making allows the employees to feel and know that they are valued. Enabling people to feel empowered to share their ideas, thoughts and concerns gives employees a chance to align their own values with that of the company, fostering a stronger work ethic. I like to think of this idea in the reverse. The aspect of culture is vital to the health of a company and its team memebrs.
Most organizations these days have an employee recognition effort. The best way to align corporate values with your people is to make sure the values are a part of that recognition program. When team members are recognized, make sure you highlight which value they exemplified. Better yet, take a peer to peer approach, let everyone be involved and say "thank you" when they see their co-workers living the company values. You'll be amazed what a culture of gratitude will do to increase employee engagement, especially when it's tied closely with your corporate values.
