I like crafts. My favorite thing to do is building stuff with different materials, and this can be anything. I started with photography. I wanted something that I could put a lot of attention into, and that I could learn while doing. I bought a cheap analog camera, some cheap film and just started. By being analog, I have to pay attention into the frame, the picture and everything else. And I have to wait to see the result, it's not like shooting with my cellphone and having 20 pictures of the same scene. At first, my rolls of film had more bad pictures than good ones. Now three years later it's the opposite. But my secret is that I found support online through thematic communities. I'm on Reddit, Facebook groups, Twitter and Discord, where I talk to other people that share this interest of mine. We share tips and feedback on our results. I also follow blogs to learn what's new, and platforms that curate photo art to get inspiration and learn new techniques.
The best way to keep in touch with yourself is to journal. In the journal you record all the interesting things happening in your life. They may be either positive or negative. However, eventually after many days, months or even years when you look back, you can trace a pattern of things that you did and found them to be fun. This is one of the best ways to discover your passions in an uncoerced manner. You will not have forced everything since your conclusions will be based on an evident pattern of things you have actually been doing and you enjoyed them.
Going out of your comfort zone is the best way to enjoy the world. Do not be afraid to seek new opportunities and expand your knowledge. Existing in an ever-changing society requires continuous learning. Learn to be brave enough to face challenges and gain new values. These values can guide you in discovering fresh interests and potential. Though it can be scary sometimes not knowing what to expect, the courage to try is the best skill one can have. Bravery comes in different shapes and forms. It can be a tear falling as you strive to achieve a goal or the pure perseverance to reach the top. Be that as it may, bravery is the best armor young adults can have in an unpredictable life.
Spend time exploring different hobbies and interests. You can write a list of things you already enjoy doing. Go online and search for similar hobbies or even job interests to the ones you already love. Watch videos on the basics of each. Try investing a month’s time into the ones that seem the most interesting to you. This way you will learn if this is an interest you will enjoy sticking to long term or if you need to find a new interests. Sometimes doing this for a few months can reveal interests that can even lead to a career or a job you enjoy. Take advantage of the free education online through instructional videos and blogs. The best way to discover new interests is to try everything. Don’t limit yourself to the same interests you’ve always had. Instead, be open to trying new things and you may find that you’re a lot more interested in these new activities than you think. If you’re open to trying new things, you never know when you’ll find your next passion.
How they can discover new interests? If you're a young adult and you're looking to discover new interests, I'd advise you to think about what you're really good at. What do people consistently compliment you on? What do you like doing when you're by yourself? The answers to these questions will help guide you in the right direction. If everyone is telling you that they admire your ability to play basketball, then maybe investing some time into learning more about basketball would be a good idea. Or if they say they love how well-read you are, then maybe reading more books would be helpful. If no one has ever told you anything specific about your skills but people still praise your personality, then maybe it's time for a self-confidence check!
Sense of self. Hobbies can be felt by oneself. For example, if you participate in a certain sports competition, you find that although you did not get a good ranking, your heart is still very excited. This is the feeling of hobbies. Not for the result of the game but to make myself happy. Close at hand. Sometimes our interest in a certain thing may not be discovered in time, but after we have played with three or five friends several times, we find that we are addicted to it. This is the hobby at hand. Happy action. After discovering our hobbies, we naturally urge ourselves to keep digging deeper. Let go of hobbies. Once we realize that we have good hobbies, such as singing, painting, handicraft, beauty, reading, etc., we should try our best to let ourselves go and spend a certain amount of energy and time on this hobby. Strive to perfect our beautiful side, shape our beautiful body and mind, and cultivate our feelings.
If you are a young adult, the world is your oyster. In other terms, the opportunities are endless. Try to get out of your comfort zone and try new things. Only then will you discover what you are good at and interested in. Trying out different activities are also a good way to meet new people and expand your social circle.
My tip for the young adults would be, to focus on themselves. When they focus, they would be able to understand things about what makes them feel interested. Try to engage yourself in different activities and come to know what things make you feel good and estimate your capability of doing things. Through this, you can discover new interests.
