Often it's the the simple things in a workplace that make the difference. Before becoming a business owner I worked in many businesses with very different management styles and cultures. My take away was, a culture of gratitude and thanks trumps any other. I encourage my team to give thanks and praise to the their colleagues for a job well done. Simply put, having your hard efforts acknowledged in a personal and face-to-face way means far more than a lavish gift or a small monetary gesture.
