To maintain a positive culture in my company, one strategy we use is to celebrate our company success or milestones together with activities that bring employees together and foster a sense of community. Celebrating such events helps to create a positive company culture by making employees feel valued and appreciated for their contributions. This helps to build a sense of unity and pride among employees, strengthening their connection to the company and its mission. And also to have fun together! For example, in our company, when we get a new foreign customer, we celebrate it together by having lunch in a restaurant of that nationality or by preparing a traditional homemade meal from that country. This is a fun way to celebrate our success together, and also gives us a chance to explore new international cuisine!

You would agree with me employees have busy schedules and a list of tasks that they have to finish before deadlines. Right? Part of maintaining positive culture is making sure employees are happy with both their work and life balance. That’s why we’ve started offering employees flexible work hours so they can work when they feel most productive. This gives them the opportunity to spend more time with their families and do other things they enjoy while still getting their work done. Not only does this benefit our workers, but it also helps us because they’re more motivated to work hard when they can see their work actually having an impact.
Once a month we will try to go to a company happy hour at the local restaurant next door to our office. We will stop work an hour early and everyone goes to the restaurant for an hour or so. The company will run a tab and get a bunch of appetizers for everyone to share. It's an excellent way to get everyone out of their work environment and get to know each other better personally. Since starting this 3 years ago I can tell that it has dynamically increases our company culture in a positive way. I have seen employees that have never talked before in the office strike up a conversation at our happy hour outing and realize they have some of the same hobbies. Now they are close friends at work and discuss their hobbies on a regular basis.

For this reason, we have made a point that it is equally as important to understand the capabilities of each employee and to know when to push them and when not to. For example, if a person works nonstop for six days a week, it is quite possible that they will become tired very quickly. This is also the case if a person works long hours. Therefore, I give my employees additional days off once a month and this helps keep them energized, which in turn gets them back on track.
