To stay current, I attend many webinars, read medical journals, and try to attend yearly conferences, namely New York Vet or ACVC. One recent modality that I learned about at last year's New York Vet conference was a cryosurgery instrument called Cryoprobe. I have been using cryotherapy in practice for many years. But the devices I have used were cumbersome. This device that we recently received should prove most effective for my patients in that many cutaneous masses will be able to be treated without anesthesia. This will ease the cost for our clients, promote comfort for our patients, and also help our productivity with being able to perform more of these regularly than surgery alone.
From Conferences to Canine Comfort Staying abreast of veterinary breakthroughs is crucial for optimal pet care. Regular participation in industry conferences, webinars, and reading peer-reviewed journals keeps me informed. Recently, a cutting-edge treatment caught my attention: stem cell therapy for arthritis in dogs. Inspired, I introduced it to a senior canine patient struggling with joint pain. The result was remarkable – improved mobility and a significant reduction in pain. This experience solidified the importance of continuous learning; integrating innovative solutions ensures our furry friends receive the best, evolving care available.
