At Block & Rooster Provisions, we believe that feedback should always be a positive part of the creative process. When providing constructive criticism, I focus on highlighting the strengths of the dish first-whether it's the bold flavor, texture, or the creativity behind it. From there, I offer suggestions for improvement in a collaborative way. Instead of saying something is "wrong," I might say, "This has a lot of potential, and here's how I think we can elevate it even further." One approach I've found particularly effective is engaging in an open dialogue-asking the chef about their vision and offering ideas that align with it, rather than imposing my own. This not only respects the work that's gone into the dish but also fosters a collaborative spirit where we're both working toward the same goal: crafting something truly exceptional. In every kitchen, including ours, creativity is key. It's important to nurture that creativity while making sure we're always striving for perfection.
