After the Christmas rush, Boxing Day is a time to relax and treasure time spent with loved ones. Having a warm family dinner where everyone brings a dish-sometimes leftover Christmas fare, other times a brand-new recipe-is one of my favourite customs. It's a laid-back, stress-free evening filled with games, laughter, and storytelling. After the stress of Christmas shopping and parties, it's a great chance to relax and strengthen relationships. By encouraging a sense of community, the custom makes Boxing Day seem like an extension of the holiday, a time to take stock and spend time with those you care about most.
My favorite way to spend Boxing Day with loved ones is by enjoying a cozy meal of Christmas leftovers. After a day of shopping or relaxing, there's something special about gathering around the table to savor the delicious meals that keep giving.
