It enables a seamless connection within global teams, helps share achievements widely, and fosters a strong organizational culture. Social media-focused HR technology is the future for inclusive and connected workplaces.
Facial recognition technology will replace traditional punch cards and access control systems, allowing employees to conveniently clock in/out and access facilities. Despite concerns about privacy and ethics, companies can address these issues by implementing strict data protection measures, obtaining employee consent, and providing transparency regarding data usage. For example, a company can encrypt and securely store facial data, limit access to authorized personnel, and ensure data is only used for attendance purposes. By implementing facial recognition, organizations can enhance efficiency, prevent time fraud, and improve security measures.
AI will be a much bigger component of the HR customer service model. Currently, I spend a lot of time working with external HR consultants and benefits support reps. AI will allow for quicker, cheaper, and more-targeted support systems for each company and eventually each individual employee.

The biggest thing I think will happen in the future of HR technology is that AI and machine learning will continue to be used in HR tasks. This will give HR workers more time to work on strategic, high-value tasks like developing talent, getting employees involved, and planning the workforce. With future tech, working from anywhere in the world will become the norm, and businesses will be able to choose from a global talent pool. Employers will be able to harness software, such as performance management tools, that use data analytics to ensure productivity. For employees, mental health support can be offered, along with remote training and development opportunities for career advancement. The whole experience of remote work will become more immersive as virtual reality and augmented reality are incorporated.
