According to an edweek.org article a 2015 study reported that "11,000 students at 62 schools trying out personalized-learning approaches made greater gains in math and reading than similar students at more traditional schools." Personalized learning such as options to choose and creativity autonomy in project based assessments help students feel more intrinsic motivation to complete tasks. It has deeper meaning to them and also facilitates greater satisfaction as they navigate and complete new learning hurdles, something which might not be the case when lack of choice or narrowed paths are forced upon them.
