During my tenure as an Executive Assistant at a mid-sized tech company, I noticed that the process for scheduling weekly status meetings was consuming a disproportionate amount of time. Initially, the approach involved numerous back-and-forth emails trying to coordinate between different team leaders’ schedules. To streamline this, I introduced a shared digital calendar where leaders could mark their availability, significantly reducing the time spent on organizing these meetings. This change not only freed up about 10 hours per week on my schedule but also accelerated decision-making processes, as meetings could be set up much faster. The team leaders appreciated how much simpler it became to see others’ availability and plan accordingly. This improvement in the scheduling process illustrates how small changes can lead to significant enhancements in productivity and overall team morale.
