I saw a story on CBS SUNDAY MORNING where a high school music director's alumni students got together to do a concert to honor his impact on their lives. I felt similarly about my high school choir director and I knew my friends did too, so I organized an alumni choir concert for her that she came to direct. It was a wonderful night. It awakened creativity in me that I hadn't explored in a very long time and now I am doing a lot more performing in addition to my work as a school librarian. The work my teacher did all those years ago positively affected me then and continue to do so long after my high school years.
