I am going to offer an opposite answer to a "promising" approach to using insulin. Insulin is the last step for many Type II diabetics after they have exhausted oral diabetic medications. There are many studies showing that long-term insulin use leads to and speeds up diabetic complications. I see them in my office everyday. As a type II diabetic, they are insulin resistant in most cases so adding something their body is fighting doesn't solve the problems but contributes to the broken metabolism. A better and more effective approach is to address the root issues related to blood sugar and insulin resistance, which leads to less use of medications and better patient satisfaction.
Smart insulin pens are an innovative advancement in diabetes management, aiding patients by providing real-time data, tracking doses, and ensuring treatment adherence. They connect to mobile apps for logging information, sending reminders for injections, and offering insights based on glucose levels. This technology has the potential to enhance patient outcomes and significantly impact the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
