In designing our downtown bistro, we faced the challenge of maximizing seating in a long, narrow space. My solution was to create a multi-functional banquette along one wall, combining seating with hidden storage. The banquette's top lifted up to reveal compartments for storing extra linens and supplies, while the backrests doubled as a display shelf for artwork and decor. This not only solved our storage issue but also added a stylish visual element to the space. We also opted for high-top tables with stools that could be tucked under the bar when not in use, maximizing floor space during off-peak hours. The tables themselves were designed with a minimalist aesthetic, featuring clean lines and a neutral color palette that complemented the restaurant's overall ambiance. By combining clever storage solutions with flexible furniture arrangements and a thoughtful design approach, we were able to create a functional and stylish dining space that maximized every inch of the limited square footage.
