In my experience, cloud storage tools are very useful for collaboration in law firms like ours. The importance of keeping legal documents secure can’t be overstated, as any damage to a single document could jeopardize the entire set. So, cloud storage solutions like Google Drive and iCloud offer a perfect remedy. Documents can be immediately uploaded to these online platforms once finished, ensuring they are securely stored and accessible whenever needed. Unless intentionally removed, these files remain in the cloud, immune to accidental deletion. Storing physical copies is not only labor-intensive but storing files on local computer drives also carries risks like hacking, virus attacks, and accidental erasure. Cloud storage significantly reduces all these risks.
It sounds simple, but Google Chat in our Google Workspace subscription. Frankly I think it's an overlooked tool in any law firm's toolbox if they have a Google Workspace subscription for all their users. You can create a main chat and then different chats for each client, product, or any which other way you want to slice it. It's simple, integrated into Google's apps, and keeps your team connected. I subscribe to a software called Bonusly that allows me to reward my team too.
