In one of our recent projects we intentionally decided to use layered lighting in an attempt to produce a flexible lighting condition. In addition to this, instead of overloading the ceiling and wall fixtures we used ambient, task, and accent lighting to create the best ambiance. This approach helped us to emphasize some architectural details such as high ceilings and the strong texture of the walls and at the same time achieve bright lighting for everyday usage. Probably one of the greatest additions that were adopted in the facility included integrated LED strips on shelving and baseboard edges. These not only gave the subtle or accent lighting but also the floating systems to shelves and furniture. It emits an inviting light during the night and the flexibility of the controls lets the clients set the brightness depending on the occasion. We also placed great consideration in sustainable development with the installation of smart lighting systems that can save energy and are pre-scheduled. The implemented systems permitted the user to set their lighting time patterns according to daylight to save on energy use. The hybridity of function, fashion, and environmental concerns did take this whole element to a new level where perception meets operation.
Innovative interior lighting design now includes smart lighting systems that adapt to occupant needs and moods, enhancing user experience while promoting energy efficiency. For instance, circadian lighting in offices mimics natural sunlight, positively impacting productivity and well-being by varying light temperatures throughout the day. This approach helps maintain natural bodily rhythms, improving the overall quality of life for employees.
