I'm not a certified tea master, but I am a certified Ayurveda practitioner. Ayurveda has numerous options for teas, recommended based on a person's body type and for the purposes of maintaining health. I appreciate the health benefits of matcha tea, but matcha is aggravating to the "Vata" body type or energy according to Ayurveda. A person with Vata energy experiences erratic thoughts, lack of concentration, anxiousness etc. Matcha tea can aggravate such a person if not balanced. Therefore, from a health perspective, match should be balanced with 2 other herbs. Ashwagandha and Shatavari. Both of these herbs balance Vata energy. It is now a common recipe used for health & wellness, for those who are aware of the Ayurveda body type differences. Matcha + Ashawa+ Shatavari make a powerful combination for health as well as improving concentration during a work day. If you wish to know about other types of teas from a health benefit perspective, happy to assist. Hope I have provided you some insights. - Amit Gupta, MD Physician, Ayurveda Practitioner, CureNatural
