Surviving on Mars isn't as easy as sci-fi movies make it seem. The real challenge begins with life support systems on Mars, we'd need technology to provide oxygen, regulate pressure, and manage waste. Unlike the instant solutions we see in games, it would require constant maintenance. Radiation is another huge hurdle. Mars doesn't have a magnetic field like Earth, so astronauts would be exposed to dangerous cosmic rays and solar radiation, which could cause long-term health issues. Growing food is possible, but we'd need controlled environments with artificial light, temperature regulation, and a lot of water definitely not as simple as "plant and grow" scenarios often portrayed. Mars also has only 38% of Earth's gravity, so muscle and bone loss over time would be a real concern. Add to that the psychological effects of isolation, and the reality of life on Mars becomes more daunting. Movies tend to skip over the mental toll of being so far from home, but in reality, it would be hard to stay mentally sharp. Terraforming is an exciting concept, but the reality is we're still centuries away from making it a possibility.
