I have heard, if you really want to understand something, teach it to others. (It is the opposite of "those who can - do, those who cannot - Teach". Teaching a concept to others forces me to get back to the basics. It reinforces those concepts in my own mind. And walking the mentee through the steps, forces me to 'practice what I preach.
How Mentorship Changed My Architectural Journey Mentorship played a pivotal role in my journey as an architect. Early in my career, I had the privilege of working under a senior architect who not only guided me through complex design projects but also instilled in me the importance of attention to detail and client communication. One particular project, a community centre, stands out. My mentor encouraged me to take the lead in client meetings and design presentations. This hands-on experience was invaluable, boosting my confidence and honing my skills. The mentor's constructive feedback and unwavering support helped me navigate challenges and grow professionally. Today, I strive to embody those same qualities, mentoring junior architects to help them achieve their potential.
